Role of the Motor Accidents Authority (MAA) NSW

The MAA has a key role in supporting the improved management of claimant's injuries within the NSW CTP scheme. Each State or Territory has an insurance system.

This is done through a range of strategies including:

  • monitoring costs and trends in injury management services to CTP claimants
  • improving injury management practices
  • funding rehabilitation initiatives targeting groups that are a high cost to the CTP scheme
  • educating stakeholders and service providers about medical/rehabilitation features of the scheme.
